Great Weekend: Vote, Family, Kids, and Books
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

I had a very productive WEEKEND. We gained an hour, and it finally feels like Autumn.

I VOTED on Saturday morning (early voting). I went to the Alafaya library near my house, but the parking situation was sloppy so I hopped on the highway and drove downtown to Kaley. I was actually happier to be there, it was more worthwhile! Everyone who was there was so eager. It was very efficient and I liked the excitement in the air.

On Saturday night, my sister's FAMILY came over, which meant I could spend time with my nieces and nephews. My youngest nephew, at 1 1/2 years old :) can finally say my name! Well, sort of... but it was like magic when it came out of his mouth (Mimi instead of Missy). He has a 40-word vocabulary, which is 4 times greater than most kids his age (sorry, yes, I am bragging). His vocabulary includes the word "pumpkin" which is adorable, and he held my hand as I led him to dinner and he also plays peek-a-boo very well.

It's wonderful how KIDS are so imaginative and fearless. If I'm lucky enough to have children some day, I want to be able to tell them that their Momma was an activist and worked to help shape communities.

Kids, uhm...
I imagine children's world. Free. Careless. Full of fantasies, yet amazing. I get into that world whenever I'm home with my children. We play. Laugh to cracking the ribs. Run after this. Caution that.... Just interesting. After leaving a child for an adult I often feel like going back to meet a child who will not mind even the spanking - he 'll still love you, looks into your eyes and gives a smile only a kid can. O! I love the experience.
